These tea glasses and coffee cups reflect the many conversations and diversity of experiences I have had during my time in Turkey. Tea is served anywhere and everywhere; in markets, in homes, while shopping for hardware supplies..the culture of tea in Turkey is ubiquitous, while coffee is served with slightly more reserve. I have had tea and coffee over difficult conversations, while bonding with new friends, during my struggle to learn and speak in Turkish, while discussing contemporary art, or while deciding which lightbulb to buy for my bathroom. These tea glasses and coffee cups reflect my evolving story..my conversations, hardships, joyous times, shifting friendships and mundane daily experiences. Tea and coffee, in every context, is continually present in my new and evolving story.
